About the Random Letter Generator
Where a random letter helps
Teachers use one to start an alphabet activity without always landing on the same easy letters. Scattergories and similar games need a letter nobody picked deliberately. Writers use one to force a constraint: every sentence in the paragraph starts with it.
It is also the fastest way to settle a category-based brainstorm. Pick a letter, then list everything in the category that starts with it. The constraint does most of the work.
Vowels, consonants, and why the split matters
Letters are not interchangeable in a word game. Landing on X or Q makes most category games nearly impossible, while a vowel makes them almost too easy. Filtering to vowels or consonants lets you set the difficulty deliberately instead of leaving it to chance.
