Privacy Policy

The short version

Everything you paste into a tool on this site stays in your browser. It is never uploaded, never stored and never seen by us, because the tools do their work on your own device. The only thing we collect is anonymous usage statistics, and only if you agree to it.

Who runs this site

RunDev, an independent site offering free developer tools at rundev.dev. For any question about this policy or your data, write to contactrundev@gmail.com.

What we do not collect

This is the important part, so it comes first. The content you put into any tool on this site is never transmitted anywhere:

  • JWT tokens pasted into the decoder
  • JSON, XML or any other data you format
  • PDF files you convert — they are read by your browser, not uploaded
  • Text you count, translate into Morse, or restyle
  • Names you paste into the group generator

All of it is processed by JavaScript running on your own machine. There is no server that receives it, which means there is no copy of it for us to lose, sell or hand over. Some tools keep your work in the browser’s session storage so it survives a page reload; that is discarded when you close the tab and never leaves your device.

Analytics, and only with permission

If you accept the cookie banner, we use PostHog to understand which tools people actually use, so we know what to improve. Nothing is loaded and no cookie is written until you accept. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, the analytics code is never downloaded at all.

When enabled, it records:

  • Which pages you visit, and in what order
  • That a tool was used, plus the size of the job — page counts, character counts, chosen settings
  • Approximate location from your IP address (country and city level), your browser and device type, and the site that referred you
  • A random identifier stored in a cookie, so repeat visits are recognised as the same person

Session replay is enabled, which records how a page was used — clicks, scrolling, layout. Every input, text area and result on the site is masked before recording, so a replay shows that a field was filled in, never what was typed in it.

PostHog processes this data on our behalf, on servers in the United States. Their privacy policy is at posthog.com/privacy.

Other services

The site is hosted on Vercel, which records standard server logs and provides aggregate traffic and performance figures. It also loads a font from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google to fetch it. Both are needed for the site to work and are not used to build a profile of you.

Cookies

There are no cookies at all until you accept analytics. If you do, PostHog sets one containing a random identifier. Your choice itself is remembered in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the Brazilian LGPD and similar laws, you can ask what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, withdraw your consent at any time, or object to it being processed. Withdrawing consent takes one click on the button above.

Because we never receive the content you work on, most requests are about the analytics record only. Write to contactrundev@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects how your data is handled will reset the consent banner, so you get to choose again rather than being opted in by default.

Advertising

The site currently shows no advertising. If that changes, this policy will be updated first, and third-party advertising vendors including Google may then use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits. You will be able to opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
